Message from Principal Jay Wildman
Welcome to Washington Upper Elementary!
Welcome to Washington Upper Elementary. We are all so excited to meet the students who will be new to the Washington Upper Elementary building and to work with our returning 5th and 6th graders. We can’t wait to get to know each student and their families. I have been a principal for sixteen years and an educator for 25 years and one thing I have learned is that communication is very important. Much of our communication is handled through social media these days. It wasn’t like that sixteen years ago. If your questions aren’t answered through our social media outlets please don’t hesitate to call or email me. Also, if you have questions or concerns about your student please don’t hesitate to communicate with your child’s teacher or myself if necessary.
We are also very excited for the new opportunities we will have in this new building configuration! We are expanding our STEM opportunities. We are broadening our offerings for Band and Chorus. Having all of our corporation’s 5th and 6th grade teachers together in the same building has already had many benefits and we expect more benefits as we go through the next few years and beyond. I am so happy that we are now all HATCHETS!
